On December 19, 2009, JCRAC held its first "Get on the Air" clinic. The event was well attended and another event is in the planning.

The club held its first Get on the Air Clinic on December 19, 2009 at the Bass Pro Shop in Olathe. The event was directed towards new HAMs that have or are about to obtian their FCC license but unsure of what to do next. The 3 hour clinic addressed common equipment questions, how to talk on the radio and included break-out sessions for programming and cable making. Attendees praised the class for it common sense approach to next steps in HAM radio. The club will be planning another session due to requested demand.
